Approach Screen

The Approach / headbox screen is a high-performance screening device used in paper pulp stock preparation, specifically designed for installation before the paper machine web. It operates under pressure within a fully enclosed system to ensure continuous screening. Pulp slurry enters tangentially into the space between the screen basket and the machine shell. Utilizing the pressure difference, acceptable pulp passes through the screen holes or slots into the basket and exits through the accept pipe. Rejects are directed to the bottom and discharged via the reject pipe.

Rotating foils outside the basket enhance pulp flow by creating a mild pressure effect and a negative pressure at the tail end. This backflushing action prevents clogging, allowing for seamless operation. The innovative design of the Approach / headbox screen ensures consistent pulp quality with minimal energy consumption.
