The MIT Fold Endurance Tester places a flexible sample under a constant tensile load and then folds the sample to a 135° angle in either direction at a rate of 175 double folds per minute until the sample breaks at the crease until. The instrument can be adjusted between 20 and 200 double folds per minute, and the maximum allowed fold angle is 135 degrees.
